MDL Powerup is based in Carlisle, Cumbria, operating from our dedicated facility which houses a welcoming office and over 4,000 square feet of workshop and storage space.
As a family business whose roots are firmly grounded in a farming background, we understand the varied challenges and workloads that are a part of everyday farming life across the UK. Innovation sits at the heart of everything we do. This expertise began with Christopher Metcalfe, founder of MDL Powerup, who started his engineering career over 40 years ago.
Over the decades, Chris has developed advanced skills in reading technical drawings, geometric development, and industrial metal forming. This deep knowledge of industrial welding and joining processes means that every product we supply or manufacture is held to an exceptionally high standard.
Manufacturing & Fabrication
CUSTOM BRITISH FABRICATION
To complement our extensive agricultural product range, we proudly offer custom fabrication services. Our workshop is equipped with high-spec machinery capable of handling the most demanding projects.
Our Capabilities Include:
- 320-Tonne Press Brake: Capable of forming metal up to 4 metres in length.
- HD Plasma Cutter: A massive 4 × 2 metre bed for precision cutting.
- Dynamic Balancing: Capable of balancing rotors up to 1,100 kg and 4,675 mm in length.
This in-house capability allows us to deliver fast turnaround times at competitive rates, ensuring you get exactly what you need, when you need it.
